I enjoyed reading this mystery. I did figure out some of the ending before it occurred. Maybe I have become smarter after reading so many Blake Pierce's murder mysteries. With three different mystery series, you would assume the lead characters would overlap, but they don't. The main character of each are assertive and have distinct personalities along with a great supporting cast.Although the ending was to be expected, it was still difficult to read the words.

Mackenziie White is evolving into a good FBI agent. Her impulsivety is more easily controlled. Agent Byers is her mentor. McGrath, the head agent, is overwhelmed by her but realizes her talent and potential. He is lenient with her antics. The villain is diabolical. Good mystery.
Spelling and grammatical errors did make me rate the book somewhat lower, as I feel proofreading vital in a book. Otherwise, I love the characters and the stories.
Enjoyed this book as much the previous. A definite page turner. Made sure that you couldn't wait to see what the next page held in store. Considering world we live in, and the people who inhabit it, seems extremely plausible. Sad thing is, I can see something like this being real. Either way, awesomely fantastic story. Thank you
Just finished reading this novel. I have to laugh because yesterday I had written a review on that I thought the series would start to get better if this detective started to "get a life!" Sure enough as I always say Blake does not disappoint, the book was already written, however, perfect timing. What a guy! EXCELLENT READ! 😀
Even though some continue to think Blake is a man I'm thinking female writer. Nevertheless she has developed a wonderful ability to keep me suspended in these crime dramas. FBI training brings new friends and supportive people and more opportunities to find love even in the amalgam of found body parts strewn hither and yon. These are intriguing page turners and I have never completed reading a book so quickly. Can't put it down from chapter to chapter. I'm taking a break from the series to catch my breath reading Ken Follett's new book. Once I've finished (it will take time since he writes 1000 pages) I will return for more excitement from Ms. Blake.
I actually paid full price for this book. Blake Pierce has a terrible editor but his stories are good enough to overlook that. MacKenzie White is a flawed character but I still want to know what happens next in her world so I bought book 4, too. Yes, I figured out where Mr. Pierce was going with the story and how it would end but I still kept reading because I enjoyed reading the story and I really like the way he writes his dialogue. He makes his characters feel real. I still get annoyed with MacKenzie when she does predictably stupid stuff and wins by the seat of her pants but here I am going on to read the next one.
MacKenzie White will have a stunning career as an FBI agent - providing she works WITH her partner, waits for backup before venturing into dangerous situations with a killer. Will she ever learn?
Blake Pierce could really use someone to edit his books - lots of words missing, or wrong wording used throughout his writings.
